The way in which news stories are being represented and put across to the audience via digital websites are rapidly increasing, as new and digital media is being improved everyday, the news stories that comes to the media interest is being spread across more quicker and more wider ranged than ever before.

The Eastenders E20 website focuses on the three man characters of the programme, the website gives insight into the episodes and the cast that is involved and the website includes episodes, clips, and characters, writers and E20-four/7.
The E20 website links in to the institutions such as face book and twitter, this is done so the audience can still be updated without having to go on the official website.
The website also allows the audience to watch the previous episode in case they haven't been up to date with it, so either way they get to watch their programme when they want to, incase they can't watch it in time.

In the episode trailer of everybody hates chris, the trailer shows him and his friend gregg, planning to go to a night club with faked IDs. The camera shots are mostly mid shots, the trailer focuses on gregg and his friends, the narrative of the trailer is humorous and quite taking the mickey as the programme is a sitcom.
To show that the trailer is of everybody hate chris at the end of the trailer the institution CW designs their logo in the graffiti style to reflect the theme of the programme and what the programme is about.

The opening of fresh prince of bel air starts with a close up shot of the main character with will smith sitting on a chair while it rotates, this first bit of the opening shot shows dominance and flair due to the clothes that he is wearing, and the way that he is positioned on the chair.
The music starts in the background is up beat and follows the rythm, getting the audience into the mood of the programme. By the first couple of seconds of the opening the audience can also tell that will is living the 'american dream' which is ideology that is created by the way in which he raps in the opening you can tell that he is laid back and relaxed.

The setting in which the intro is based, the audience can tell that the main character's background is is from the black suburbs by the graffiti and the urban artwork that is present, telling that his future could be bright.

Top Boy is a British television drama series, which was first broadcast on Channel 4. The four episodes were broadcast over consecutive nights, from 31 October to 3 November 2011. Set on the fictional Summerhouse housing estate in Hackney, North London, the series follows the lives of a group of criminals involved in drug dealing and street gangs.


The programme is set in the modern era of london, and represents the lack culture and their life struggle growing up in the rough parts of london. The programme targets the audience of youth teenagers, age from 15 - 25 at least, with the explicit language that is used and the violence that is involved.


The independent quoted ' The drama involved virtually no preaching at all, but a sense of morality was everywhere, as bad conscience flickered in the face of the toughest characters and grief hit the culpable and the blameless alike. Best of all, it always found a little time for something other than plot, whether it was banter on stairwells or the melancholy beauty of the city at night. Seriously good television.'

The third text that i have decided to focus on, in terms of my case study that is focused on representation is eastenders e20.
EastEnders: E20 is a British Internet soap opera, which began airing on 8 January 2010. A spin-off from the established BBC soap EastEnders, it is set in EastEnders' regular setting of Albert  Square, a Victorian square in the fictional borough of Walford, in the East End of London. Each series follows a group of teenage characters.
 EastEnders: E20 is filmed on the same set as EastEnders, using three handheld cameras to give it a more "edgy" feel compared to EastEnders, which is filmed with cameras on tripods.
Each series features new teenage characters who move to Walford, as well as cameos from existing characters from the main show. The characters are described as sixth form students trying to escape from "family problems and crises of their own making".

Eastenders E20 represents race in the modern era, in the latest series 2 out of the 3 main characters are black, the audince interprets them as young teenagers tryin to fnd their way in a not to sophisticated area such as watford. The target audince is preferably teenagers, but adults can  be considered as an inviolved audience also.

Mest 3 Text Analysis - Everybody Hates Chris

For my second text i have decided to focus on Everybody Hates chris.
Everybody Hates Chris is an African American television period sitcom inspired by the teenage experiences of comedian Chris Rock (who is also the narrator), while growing up in theBedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. The show is set from 1982 to 1987; however, Rock himself was a teenager during years 1978-1983. Chris Rock grew up with a boy named Kenny Montero who he has often referred to as the inspiration for a lot of the episodes. In many interviews, Rock has described Kenny as the reason he got into comedy in the first place. 


Set in the mid 1980s, the show revolves around the everyday life of Chris. Chris is a 16-year-old high school student in the series' last episode. Chris is one of the few "normal" characters on the show, surrounded by a collection of eccentric characters that, in his point of view, act as if they dislike him. Chris lives in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, a working-class community and attends an all-white school in Brooklyn Beach, where students and teachers alike pick on him. If events progress favorably for Chris throughout an episode, they will almost certainly backfire on him by the end. Likewise, if a situation isn't going Chris' way, it always gets worse for him, whether or not he tries to change it or not.
